In 2003, the late Don & Caroline McCauley established the Pope John Elementary School Children’s Fund.
Education was a priority for the McCauleys, and they wanted to find a way to encourage learning outside of the classroom.
Annual grants from this Designated Fund are made to Pope John XXIII Catholic Elementary School to help cover academic extracurricular activities not normally covered in the school’s budget, like field trips, fine arts programs, special academic projects, etc. Don shared in a Community Foundation newsletter at the time that “Anything that benefits the kids benefits all of us.”
