The Sharon Thom Alcorn Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998 by her husband, Merritt Alcorn, and family.
Sharon was a member of the Madison Consolidated High School Class of 1968, where she was her class President, Student Council Vice President, and was named Homecoming Queen. She was an educator at area schools including Ivy Tech Community College. Sharon passed away after a valiant battle against breast cancer in May 1998.
Each year, this scholarship is awarded to a Madison Consolidated High School Senior who will pursue a degree in Education.
