LEADERSHIP JEFFERSON COUNTY ACCEPTING APPLICANTS FOR 2027 CLASS
Applications are due before October 31, 2026
MADISON, IN – Leadership Jefferson County, a program at the Community Foundation of Madison & Jefferson County, is now accepting applications for the 2027 course. The course consists of 11 sessions that will help participants have a better understanding of resources and relationships in the community. Throughout the course, community members and topic experts will speak and share their insights on the following subjects: Agriculture & Natural Resources, Business & Entrepreneurship, Community Health, Education, Government Agencies & Organizations, History, Industry & Economic Development, Nonprofits & Volunteerism, Social Services, and Tourism.
Participants will begin the course with the Introduction & Orientation session on Tuesday, January 12, 2027, from 8am to 4pm at Ivy Tech Community College-Madison. All remaining sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 8am to 1pm, with lunch provided, and meeting locations will vary. Leadership Jefferson County is an action project that evolved from Envision Jefferson County.
“Participating in Leadership Jefferson County is a transformative experience that deepens your connection to the community, whether a lifelong resident or new to Jefferson County,” said Leadership Jefferson County Steering Committee Chair and 2023 course graduate Rachel Sharpe. “It empowers individuals to grow personally and professionally, creating lasting impact through service, collaboration, and civic engagement.”
Applications to participate must be received by Friday, October 31, 2026. Applications are available online at https://www.cfmjc.org/ljc, or can be picked up at the Community Foundation office at 416 West Street, Madison, Indiana. Selected participants will pay a $250 enrollment fee prior to beginning the course.
