COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL G1K PROGRAM COMPETITIVE GRANT CYCLE WINNER
MADISON, IN – The Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County, Inc. (CFMJC) is proud to announce the Jefferson County 4-H Club and Agricultural Association as the inaugural winner of the recently established G1K Program Competitive Grant Cycle. The organization will receive a $72,000 grant that will be used to construct a new Community Building at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds.
This competitive grant is made possible by the G1K charter memberships collected between January 1 to March 31, 2026. Submitted applications were reviewed by an independent, non-G1K member committee, which narrowed the field to five finalists. The collective G1K membership ranked the finalist applications to determine the recipient.
The G1K grant opportunity will annually award one large-scale grant to one nonprofit organization that serves the residents of Jefferson County, Indiana. In order to apply, organizations must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Organization and is program must serve the residents of Jefferson County, Indiana
- Organization must be an IRS recognized 501(c)3 charity or 509(a) organization (schools, government, hospitals, churches)
Assets of the G1K program are held and maintained at CFMJC. G1K membership is open to individuals, couples, businesses, and organizations. Annual membership is a $1,000 tax-deductible donation, and 100% of all membership dollars are distributed through the G1K Competitive Grant Cycle. Memberships run by calendar year (January 1 to December 31).
Established in 1991 by a group of local volunteers, the Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County, Inc. fulfills the mission of buildign a strong, vibrant community by helping donors provide perpetual funding for the people, projects, and passions of Jefferson County. In the past 35 years, the Community Foundation has reinvested over $20 million dollars into the community through grants and scholarships.
