This Field of Interest Fund was created in 2022 through Joe and Kay Yager’s commitment to the Foundation’s Legacy Society through their estate plans.
Joe and Kay Yager were high school sweethearts who were married for nearly 63 years. Joe lived in Jefferson County his whole life, while Kay moved to the area at age 10. They farmed together and worked hand-in-hand constructing and decorating local homes. Much later in life, when updating their estate documents, Joe and Kay included plans to establish this Field of Interest Fund.
Annual grants from this endowment will be awarded as part of the Community Foundation’s competitive grant cycle in response to applications from nonprofit organizations serving the youth of Jefferson County.
