Tiffany Carter was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at a young age, and was the 11th person in the country to receive a double lung and liver organ transplant. She was an advocate for organ donation and helped raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research while she was alive. Shortly after her double organ transplant, Tiffany unexpectedly passed away at the age of 13 in 2003.
To honor her memory, her parents, Lynn Carter and Roy Carter, established the Tiffany Lee Carter Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior of Madison Consolidated High School who writes an essay about Cystic Fibrosis and/or the importance of organ donation.
