The Lisa Cheatham Memorial Scholarship was established on August 11, 2008. Lisa’s husband, Mark Cheatham, and their children, along with memorial gifts from their family and friends created this endowment to continue Lisa’s passion for education and young people.
Lisa was a well-loved teacher at Southwestern Elementary School for 22 years. During her career, she touched the lives of many students with her enthusiasm and compassion. Lisa passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior of Southwestern High School who has attended the school for at least 3 years and shows achievement in academics and extracurricular activities.
