In 1911, A. S. Custer gave $1,000 to Madison High School in order to create the annual Custer Oratorical Contest. That tradition has spanned over a century.
In the spirit of Mr. Custer, participants, their family members, friends, and past coaches joined together to create this endowment in 2018. Having this endowment will grow the scholarships awarded annually to contestants for many generations to come.
