On November 28, 2017, Bill and Jennifer Hensler established the Howard and Mary Muncie Hensler Memorial Fund. It was created in memory of Bill’s parents, Howard and Mary Hensler, who were life-long residents of Jefferson County.
Howard retired from the Madison Consolidated School Corporation after 29 years as principal at Eggleston Elementary School, and was a former teacher at E.O. Muncie Elementary earlier in his career. Mary, the daughter of E.O. and Eunice Muncie, retired after a long career at King’s Daughters’ Hospital, where she worked as the head surgical nurse, a floor nurse, and finally as a nurse in the Emergency Room.
Bill and Jennifer established this fund in such a way that Howard and Mary could continue to support the Jefferson County community in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, Trinity United Methodist Church, Jefferson County 4-H, and educational needs.
