Mary M. Hoefling enjoyed volunteering in her hometown of Madison in a variety of ways, including the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP Jefferson County).
In 1995, she decided to plan what would happen with her estate after she passed away. She decided to include the Community Foundation in her will and, through it, directed the establishment of the Carl J. & Mary M. Hoefling Fund. Upon her death in 2001, the fund was established with proceeds from her estate.
This Designated Fund provides annual grants to the Jefferson County Historical Society, First Christian Church, the Pilot Club Of Madison, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
