The Jefferson County Historical Society Endwoment Fund was established by Marcella S. Modisett, MD in 1993.
The Jefferson County Historical Society was founded in 1850, making it one of the oldest organizations of its kind in Indiana. In 1988, the Madison Railroad Station opened to the public, after the society restored it. In 1992, the society completed construction of a new County Museum of History.
Annual grants from this Designated Fund are made to the Jefferson County Historical Society to support the organization as it carries out its mission of preserving our area’s history.
