The Brad O’Leary Scholarship was established in 2001 by his widow, the late Amelia O’Leary.
F. Bradford “Brad” O’Leary taught Spanish at Madison Consolidated High School (MCHS), and passed away in 1981 at the age of 58. Amelia established the scholarship to remember her husband by supporting and encouraging graduating high school seniors interested in the Spanish language.
Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior of MCHS who plans to attend an accredited two or four-year post-secondary institution, has taken at least 3 years of Spanish courses and received grades of “C” or better, plans to continue to use and improve their Spanish speaking skills, and demonstrates financial need.
