Spirit’s Fund was established in 2004 by Alice Carlson Jackson.
Spirit was brought to a local veterinarian after being severely abused. Alice heard of the poor puppy and went to the veterinarian’s
office to visit her daily. Alice was able to adopt Spirit, and they travelled to local schools to tell Spirit’s story and how to be a responsible pet owner.
Annual grants from this Field of Interest Fund are used to promote and support animal welfare in Jefferson County.
