The Weinberg Family Fund was established in 1995 by Elizabeth Weinberg to remember her husband, Jerry.
Elizabeth stated that Jerry “lived most of his life in Madioson and that is where this money belongs.” Jerry was the president and manager of I. Weinberg Corp. in Madison from 1948 to 1987. He was an Army veteran of WW II, an Eagle Scout, a director of H. Alexander National Insurance Company, and a former director of the Lide White Boys and Girls Club. He and Elizabeth also ran a scrap yard business until Jerry’s death in 1992. Elizabeth wrote a history of Jewish families in Madison. She was also active in the school system when her children were in school.
Annual grants from this Designated Fund are made to the Jefferson County Historical Society to support the organization as it carries out its role and mission in our community.
