On June 11, 1998, the Jefferson County Youth Shelter established the Jefferson County Youth Shelter Endowment in Memory of John Clapham.
John passed away in 1989 at the age of 17 in an auto accident. At that time, the family directed that memorial contributions be made to the Youth Shelter so they could remember him by helping other young people. The shelter kept and grew these memorials until they established the endowment with the Foundation.
Annual grants from this Agency Fund are sent to the shelter to help it carry out its mission.
